Y-3 just released the Fall/Winter ’14 footwear collection, ripe with models suited for all uses. The first two models utilize the same silhouette, the Y-3 Qasa Racer, and are available in Triple Black and Navy/White. The Qasa Racer is an updated version of the brand’s staple silhouette, the Qasa, and features a low top cut with wraparound TPU components, which provide stability and an interesting design aesthetic, in addition to the famous Roll-Ball sole unit. The Triple Black version stays true to its color name, exhibiting a fully black outer from top to bottom. The Navy/White however, uses a tad wider color spectrum, using navy for the body, a darker navy hue for the toe wrap, and a royal blue for the rear fabric strap. The next silhouette, the Hayex, arrives in a high top and low top cut with similar color makeups. The Hayex Boot Hi – Black/White/Red uses a black nubuck for the upper, while the inner sock and tongue are made of a functional neoprene. Black hiker boot D-Rings fasten the tonal laces in place, while red hits are located on the leather tongue complete with Y-3 branding. The Hayex Boot Low – Black/White/Red uses a similar black nubuck upper, however the neoprene liner is more exposed and secured by black nubuck quarter panels. Both models sit atop a black adiPrene midsole unit, which features a camo-print at the mid-foot. The last model in the collection is the Held II High Top – Black/Grey/Brown, which is a high top boot, that doubles as a sneaker. It features a black neoprene upper with premium grey suede, and black and brown leather overlays. The shoe sits atop a wide white outsole, with a basket-woven netting detail on the midsole.
We believe the boot(s) have quite a strong resemblance the Nike Lunarterra Arktos in its design and the low Qasa Racers could be placed in a certain category with Nike’s Roshe Runs, but never the less some nice new designs added to the playing field.
